Managerial

·    Lead the unit and guide its day-to-day operations.

·    Assess subordinate’s productivity and progress and identify training needs of team members to improve efficiency and ensure conformity with standard procedures and practices.

·    

Organizational

·    Support internal and external Stakeholders with global best practice guidance and practical advice.

·    Oversee and manage the department teams and ensure strategic alignment across various initiatives.

·    Ensure the effective application and administration of the  urban & regional planning and design related plans, policies, development regulations including but not limited to:- Integrated Development Management Plan Zonation, Stage Gates, Vernacular Architecture Guide, Protected Area Codes, Permitting System

·    

General Operational

·    Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the development of an effective, collaborative and sustainable network

·    Continual analysis of urban and regional planning trends, providing the foundation of setting the overall strategy.

·    Oversee and manage the department teams and ensure strategic alignment across various initiatives

·    Manage consultants and specialist studies

·    Performance management of subordinate staff

·    Any other such duties as may be reasonably required

·    

Development

·   Act responsibly, ethically, and effectively as an Authorized Representative for and develop the good standing and reputation of the locally and internationally.

·   Work independently and under pressure; while using sound, professional judgment when making decisions.

 

·    

Urban Planning

·    Review and actively participate in Town Planning Schemes, Regional plans, Structure Plans, Framework Plans, Master Plans, including those of Concessions within the Reserve, and promote amendments, as necessary, to ensure alignment with the Vision, Mission, Mandate of the

·    Provide various urban planning inputs to the  Integrated Development Management Plan (IDMP).

·    Oversee the proper application of the ‘Stage Gates’ environmental and development approval process.

·    Develop the permitting and development control management system.

·    Receive, review, comment, make recommendations for approval on development applications and scoping applications.

·    Develop Codes and Standards for construction and infrastructure within the reserve’s natural areas.

·    Consult, co-ordinate and align as far as practicable with key government stakeholders, including those who develop and apply construction and development codes of their own with the potential to impact the reserve.

·    Determine and recommend land use and zoning amendments which will promote the realization of successful National Park Cities with the

·    Strictly regulate urban edges and buffer zones and prevent urban sprawl encroaching into natural areas of the reserve.

·    Formulate and oversee special planning studies and investigations.

·    Procure and manage consultant services, ensuring delivery of required  outputs to the requisite standards and within agreed timeframes and budgets.

·    Compile and maintain accurate data and urban development indicator information and metrics.

·    Update planning instruments from time-to-time, as may be necessary to maintain relevance and effectiveness

·    

People Management

·    Motivate team members and support in monitoring team performance and providing feedback. 

·   Measuring team performance and identify team members development needs

·   Follow up on escalated cases/issues of subordinates to ensure they are closed efficiently and in a timely manner. 

·    

Budget Management

·   Effectively manage necessary financial operations

·    

Other

·   Successful track record ideally within the region

·   Proven track record as an effective leader and stakeholder management skills

·   Interest in conversation and ‘design with nature’ would be advantageous

·   Strong verbal and written communications

·   Report writing and presentation skills – English and Arabic

·   Based in the at Al Wajh

·   KSA Driver’s License
